Work here
Two ways in: articleship, for CA students registering their training, and a paid assistant role for someone who can already run compliance work with light supervision. Applications are read by CA K Sanjay Bhargav directly — there is no HR layer here to get past.
Attach your CV to the email. If that is awkward, send it on WhatsApp instead.
What this place actually is
A single chartered accountant in practice in HSR Layout, working mostly on income tax and GST for individuals and small companies, with a concentration in cross-border matters — foreign income, RSUs and ESOPs, NRI taxation, notices, and the compliance that sits around them.
It is worth being plain about the trade. You will not get a brand name on your CV, a structured training calendar, or a department to specialise inside. What you get instead is breadth — the same person handles the notice, the reconciliation and the client call — and a partner you speak to every day rather than every quarter. Some people want exactly that. Others are better served by a large firm, and there is no point pretending otherwise at the interview stage.
Articled assistant
For students eligible to register articleship with the ICAI, or looking to transfer where the Institute’s conditions for transfer are met. Registration is done properly through the ICAI in the prescribed forms; the stipend is as per ICAI norms.
What you would actually work on, from early on:
- Income tax returns, including the ones that are not simple — foreign assets, capital gains, traders, presumptive cases
- GST registrations, returns and reconciliations, and the notices that follow from mismatches
- Drafting replies to departmental notices — reading the notice, finding what is actually being asked, assembling the evidence
- ROC and LLP annual filings
- Audit work, and the working papers that have to support it
- Client conversations. Not shielded from them — explaining a position to the person it affects is most of the job
You will be expected to read the section rather than the summary of it. Most of what is published on this site’s guides is written that way, and it is a fair sample of how the work is approached.
Paid assistant
For a semi-qualified or qualified candidate, or someone with practical experience in a CA firm, who can carry a compliance workload without being walked through each step.
What the role needs:
- Working familiarity with the income tax and GST portals — filing, responding, tracking what is pending
- Enough accounting to finalise a small set of books and spot what is wrong in someone else’s
- Comfort with Excel as a working tool, not a formatting exercise
- Written English good enough for a reply that goes to a department or a client
- The habit of saying “I am not sure” early rather than guessing quietly
Remuneration depends on what you can already do, and is settled in conversation rather than published here.
How to apply
Email your CV to sanjay.fca@outlook.com, or send it on WhatsApp. Say which of the two roles you are applying for in the subject line, and include:
- Your CV, as a PDF
- For articleship — your CA exam status, and whether this is a fresh registration or a transfer
- For the paid role — what you have handled independently, and your notice period if any
- When you can start, and whether you are in Bengaluru or would be relocating
- Anything you have written, if you have written anything. It is not required and its absence counts for nothing
Every application is read. You will get a reply either way, though a reply may take a few days in filing season — if you have not heard in a fortnight, a follow-up is welcome rather than a nuisance.
Your CV and its contents are used only to consider your application and are not shared outside this practice. Ask and it will be deleted.
Both positions are open to applications until 31 March 2027.
